What do your three values of Impact, Community, and Simplicity mean?Updated 23 days ago

Our approach to sustainability is built around three pillars that guide us: Impact, Community, and Simplicity. Here’s what each one means to Nation Los Angeles:

Impact

We’re intentional about how our clothes are made, from the fibers we source to the factories we partner with. For us, Impact means:

  • Over 70% of our styles are made from 100% natural materials, like Peruvian Pima Cotton and alpaca wool.
  • We use an Environmental Impact Score to evaluate each fabric on criteria such as sustainability, traceability, certifications, resource consumption, and waste reduction.
  • Packaging: All our garments are enclosed in compostable bags that biodegrade fully within a year, and we avoid including return shipping labels to reduce unnecessary waste
  • Programs like (Recycle) and (Renew) help close the loop, keeping textiles out of landfills.

Community

We’re deeply connected to the people behind our products. Community means ensuring that every person involved in the making of our garments is treated with fairness and respect. That includes:

  • Partnering with women-owned and women-led factories, especially in Peru, where the majority of our clothes are made.
  • Supporting local economies and farmers, particularly those growing Pima Cotton using traditional, sustainable methods.
  • Prioritizing factories that have achieved or are actively working toward WRAP Certification, the gold standard for ensuring humane and fair labor practices
  • Giving back through community-focused programs (like supporting local women’s shelters through our farming partners).

Simplicity

  • From choosing natural fabrics to designing effortless silhouettes, our clothes are made to take the guesswork out of getting dressed. Versatile, timeless, and easy to wear so you can do more with less.
  • Prioritizing natural fibers over synthetics, we keep our clothes simple for you, and for the planet.
